Overall Objective

To enable participants to recognize the hazards associated with products used at work, understand their responsibilities, and correctly interpret labels and safety data sheets in order to protect their own health and that of their coworkers

Specific Objectives

• Define the GHS, WHMIS, and WHMIS 2015, and understand their purpose.
• Distinguish between the responsibilities of suppliers, employers, and workers, as well as the applicable legal framework.
• Identify and interpret hazard classes, their severity levels, and their pictograms: physical hazards, health hazards, and exceptions.
• Distinguish between the supplier label and the workplace label, as well as the required information on each.
• Review and interpret a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), particularly regarding first aid, fire safety, spills, storage, exposure, and protective equipment
